Lundi 7 octobre, au moins 60 Ponots étaient évacués de leur immeuble d’habitation de la rue André Soulier. La raison ? Un début d’incendie. Il s’agissait d’un feu de joint de dilatation.

Il aura fallu près de deux jours aux sapeurs pompiers altiligériens pour venir à bout de ce sinistre. Les opérations se sont terminées ce mercredi matin. « On a fait des surveillances pour être sûrs que la combustion était bien terminée afin d’éviter de possibles dégagements de gaz de combustion », explique le commandant des opérations, Pascal Reymond. Leurs appareils n’ont fait aucune détection.

Trois logements étaient toujours inaccessibles ce mercredi matin

La voie est donc libre. Tout le monde va enfin pouvoir retrouver son logement. À vrai dire, dès lundi, quand l’ascenseur avait été remis en marche et que les soldats du feu avaient entrepris toutes les vérifications nécessaires, la grande partie des habitants évacués avaient pu regagner leurs domiciles. Seulement trois logements avaient dû rester vides. Les occupants avaient été relogés, en attendant, dans leur famille ou par la mairie.

Pourquoi cela a pris tant de temps ? « Ce sont des feux très techniques et difficiles d’accès. La combustion se fait entre les murs. De ce fait, les éléments de construction nous ralentissaient. Et on ne peut pas transformer un mur en gruyère, un mur porteur doit rester porteur. »
